Hi, I’m Andres Mauricio Guerrero
I’m an economist from Universidad de Los Andes working at the intersection of econometrics, credit data, and financial markets. I currently work as an Innovation Intern at a2censo, the crowdfunding platform of the Colombian Stock Exchange (bvc), part of nuam — the regional holding integrating the Colombian, Chilean, and Peruvian exchanges.
Experience
a2censo — bvc / nuam (2026–present). Data analysis, market research, and customer feedback work to improve platform adoption and profitability; design and implementation of AI-powered tools for internal processes.
World Bank — Short Term Consultant (2026). Systematic verification of empirical claims and statistics for chapters of the Human Capital Review 2025 for Colombia, working with internal data.
First Global Frontier — Founder (2023–2024). Business strategy, financial planning, and cross-cultural negotiation in English, developed alongside a Diploma in Entrepreneurship at Los Andes.
What I’m Learning & Using
- Programming & Software: Python, R, STATA, and Excel
- Data Sources & Tools: Bloomberg, Capital IQ, and World Bank Databases
- Analytical Skills: Econometric & causal analysis (such as OLS, IV strategies, and panel data models), alongside EDA, regression modeling, and forecasting
- Currently Exploring: Machine learning applied to credit and time-series problems; data extraction and integration via APIs
The Power of Economics
What excites me most about economics is the ability to identify causal effects and quantify problems and human behaviors that usually evade exact scientific analysis.
This analytical mindset doesn’t just stay in the classroom; I actively apply it to real-world challenges, and I enjoy testing my problem-solving in high-stakes environments. Most recently: Top 5 out of more than 1,000 participants in Crack the Case 2026 at Universidad de La Sabana—an experience that sharpened my financial modeling and strategic communication skills.
Why This Site?
I created this site to:
- Document my econometric and quantitative analysis projects
- Share insights on business strategy and entrepreneurship
- Practice my communication skills
- Build a portfolio for quantitative and data roles in finance and fintech
Beyond Economics
When I’m not analyzing data, sports are my main focus. I dedicate around an hour and a half every day to physical activity, and I occasionally compete in futsal tournaments. I also value adaptability, learning agility, and teamwork—skills I honed during a decade of volunteering with the Scouts International Organization.
Let’s Connect
I’m always interested in connecting with professionals, recruiters, students, and anyone working on interesting quantitative problems. Feel free to reach out via email or connect with me on LinkedIn.
